I came on just a few minutes ago and was shocked to see how many threads had new posts! So I picked a thread, opened it, and not one post had a recent date. Many of the threads are marked as having unread posts, though there is nothing new.
However, I did find one thread (so far) that did have one new post. That post was marked as read once the thread was opened, even though the post itself had not yet opened.

Not sure if this applies, but I have found when I clean out my "cookies" that this will often happen to me.

yes - I believe it uses cookies to remember which threads you've read etc.

Thank you. I hadn't thought about the cookie connection wink3.gif I did clean out the cookie jar not too long ago. Thankfully those cookies don't add to the hips! smile.gif

Well, it is happening again. Forums with no new information have been marked as new. And some posts that are new, appear to have been read although they have not. THIS TIME it is not because of cookies. I haven't dumped any recently. Hmmmm confused1.gif

Tech and/or Indy will have to check into this to see if anything else is going on. Not sure what else to suggest at this point.

It also helps to know certain things, which browser you are using and what OS (including service packs) would be helpful as well.

I'm using a Firefox browser (2.0.0.9) in Windows Vista basic.

I've tested using XP SP2 wth I.E.7, Firefox2 & Safari3 and everything seems normal.
I've also tested using OSX Safari3 & Firefox2 and everything seems normal.

Not sure what could be wrong, but I just don't see the same issue.

Hmmm ... I think I just experienced what Michi might be talking about. confused1.gif

I was doing my usual reading and know I had just read all the posts in the Greeter section, but then the forum showed that two of the threads I had just finished reading were now marked unread, but I could see that no one had posted to those two threads. Since I was reading posts, I hadn't cleared my cookies and this doesn't happen automatically as I prefer to do this manually.

Bumping this topic as this just happened to me again ... in the same section of the forum. I'm using IE7 Version 7.0.6000.165751C

(and please no Mozilla comments wink3.gif )

I was on this forum just last night, or was it the night before? Anyway, it has not been long. Everything was fine. Today, the problem is back. Even after I mark a thread as read, leave it and then come back, it is marked as unread shock.gif
It is not a constant problem, but it is somewhat frequent.
