I have completed Teledahn, including visiting Phil's Relto via the spy room. Is there a way to "jump" to the metal walkway that has been damaged. It is close to the power tower. I have done it in one direction but not the reverse.

I have a tendency to kick things that make me mad. That's why my kids are so well behaved. wink3.gif

thanks to all of you who responded. Sometimes, when you have a problem you have to jump on it.
Now if I could just figure out how to unjam the last worm gear drive. I don't even have a clue what it drives, except maybe me crazy. bleh.gif bleh.gif

If you have been able to read Sharper's Journal (which is now empty) you would have learn that he trapped a Shroomie in there and a great deal of damage occurred, including breaking that worm gear beyond repair.

Yes, the Sharper Notebook is not in the game right now, but we kept a copy on our Website, Tom, if you'd like to read it through. Most of it is about the history of the efforts to open the "Cavern" a few years back. :-)

I had an issue with that gate. It just wouldn't go down. I thought I might have a power problem so left it for another day. The next time I went there, the gate was down. Maybe the maytag repair man got bored and stopped by.

Yes I do see the part where Shroomie did a bit of damages after being trapped. I just did not make the connection to the worm gear. Sharpers note book adds so much information to an already great age. Two questions - Do you think that the notebook will be added for new explorers to enjoy and better understand the age? Second, have you ever "trapped" a Shroomie? I have only seen her far out to sea and don't know where her old nest might be.

I think the ultimate plan will be to use that notebook to make the story "current" and a tool to communicate new activities in the Cavern. :-)

You can entice Shroomie to come closer but it takes some patience and some effort.

First, you must turn off the sun power tower by pressing the button again. The tower will stop rotating and drop back to its original state. Shroomie appears to really dislike the noise it makes.

Make sure your Teledahn bookmark is set for the one opposite the journey door near the path down to the vapor miner gun.

Now prepare to visit the Age regularly (daily).

Go down to the spore feeder a bit further down the dock than the vapor miner gun. Pull the handle a couple of times to put some spores into the water. And then you leave and come back tomorrow.

Every time you return, quickly move out to the dock area near the vapor miner. Usually, you will hear shroomie bellow just after arriving and you may catch a glimpse of her out in the bay. She will submerge after a minute or so. Operate the feeder and leave until time to return the next day.

Each day you return and operate the feeder, Shroomie should be just a bit closer to the dock. If you miss a day, you will lose some (or all) of your progress luring Shroomie in. I managed to get her to come in fairly close, maybe a 100 yards or so by appearance.
Click here to view/hide a spoiler.

There are pictures out there on the web showing Shroomie next to the dock with people standing on her back but I believe that was done on a shard using modified Age code. I could never manage not to miss a day so I'm not sure just how close Shroomie will come toward the dock.

I have been "feeding" Shroomie for 5 days now. She/It is getting closer each day. Shroom now can be seen from the dock and submerging. If this progresses at this level for another 5 days, Shroom will be within 20 yards of the dock.

Oh, my this makes me want to load Uru Complete Chronicles and play Teledahn again. Think I will do it if I ever get done with Schizm. Maybe I can tempt that Shroomie thing to come close.

No reason to install Uru:CC again-- you can just play Myst Online: Uru Live Again!
