He's been celebrated like in the US. I must however say that his speech was pretty good. I would look forward to him as new president.

well, granted he couldn't be NEARLY as effective or grand as the present resident of the w.h., nor do nearly as much good for our economy, bring such vast quantities of peace to the world, etc. etc. yada yada blah blah, but it might be a refreshing change, eh?

Me either. I'd rather have the guy who was looking at egg cartons in a supermarket while Obama was giving that speech. We need a guy who knows his eggs...

I wouldn't either. I'd rather have that country guy... Errr... What's his name? Oh yeah, Billy Bob!

He'll make sure those commie pigs don't get power and the negroes stay DOWN.

"Segregation now. Segregation Tomorrow. Segregation FOREVER!"

(Snark, if your dimwitted mind is unable to process that)

Actually, I stand by the magical unity pony. (you're a cool person if you can figure out what that means)

threads of political nature, especially along the bipartisan lines, and especially posts from americans (dare i suggest it?) always tend to degrade into the least common denominator of taste. seemingly innocent "comments", with delicious underpinnings of sarcasm are thrown into the mix (rather than simple "i would" or "i wouldn't" posts), and then eventually someone posts something so blatant where the shell of sarcasm is on the outside, carefully using terminology intended to inflame those "who don't get it"... ah, politics ... such a harsh mistress.

i rather liked my blatant sarcasm in the matter, but then again... i'm not one of the "in" people... laugh.gif

like racie reminded, please try to remember not to flame people for their simple "yay" or "nay" positions.

let's all play nicely, regardless of how deep our political feelings might be.

I always *knew* you had your head in the clouds rather than your feet on the ground...

Interesting words:
Unity - A fake solution to the false problem of "excessive partisanship." Ponies for everybody!
Pony - n. An intensely desired but extremely unlikely outcome.

Hrm... in the interest of unity, I think I will refrain from posting my opinion... partisan politics is not a subject for "proper ladies," don'tcha know? bleh.gif With apologies to Voltaire: I may not like your pony, but that doesn't mean I would keep you from riding it.
