Wow.... that was a while ago. I actually did find what I wanted: The Egg Room Music. I'll bet some of you recall my obsession with the egg room!

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 10:43 AM

uhuh....does any one know of a search i could use?

Posted by: Shadowcats Jun 20 2006, 11:49 AM

All the music will be in your install in the sfx folder
just look for the lagest file sizes.
there .ogg files but there are file converters out there to change them into .wav or .mp3 files so you can burn them to normal CD.

Posted by: ToriaUru Jun 20 2006, 12:09 PM

Actually an awesome program to convert the .ogg files to .wav or .mp3 files is http://www.mediamonkey.com/. It's FREE! Completely, totally awesome as well. Eat My Shortz told me about it. Somebody else on the Ubi boards told him about it (can't recall the name). You can search for .ogg files and then once they're found, convert them. Good luck!

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 12:34 PM

thanks guys! so ALL of the music is in the uru folder under sfx? i looked in there but all i got was sound effects. the only way i got these is by typing in "music" on the search box. then i was reading back about the egg music and found that that was one i missed, i didn't come up when i did the music search. so i just typed in the word that you had on here...you guys said something about a UU directory, but i couldnt find that either. down.gif so i dont know where to look. i know this isn't all of the music but i don't know where to look.....

I always figured that it had something to do with the egg resembling your head. Though, I cannot make bald comments... shock.gif

Are these ogg files (not to be confused with egg files lmao.gif ) the same as is on the CD. I have never tried to extract them from the game... Though I did try to supplement my Relto Music Machine's music with these, with no luck. down.gif

Gamer, the UU directory will be (if you took the normal installation) in your Program Files Folder, under Ubi Soft, then Cyan Worlds, then Uru - Ages Beyond Myst. The sfx folder has hidden files in it, so you want to 'show all files' under the folder options in Windows.

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 12:46 PM

sigh.........................has any one here made a cd and gotten the music?

Posted by: Cleft Jun 20 2006, 12:47 PM

The music for the Eggroom is already in your list in your first post. It's called nb01PrivateRoom_Loop.ogg smile.gif

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 12:51 PM

yeah. i know. i got that from another thread around here. it just didnt come up with the list of the others that i have there. that is what makes me think that there are more out there. the main one i want is the one in ahny...when the age is in space form...

Posted by: Rex Havoc Jun 20 2006, 12:53 PM

Ah, I don't have Uru and the Exp packs loaded here, at work, just UU so I don't have that tune here, either. Are you looking in the full game files or the UU files. Maybe that is the problem! smile.gif

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 12:56 PM

i am looking in the full game files..i dont know how to get to the UU files.. unsure.gif

Posted by: Rex Havoc Jun 20 2006, 01:03 PM

UU will be installed (this is something you would have had to do) in a separate folder. The music you are seeking, I doubt would be there. I'm not seeing it in my UU install. I can check when I get home and see if I find them...

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 01:05 PM

thank you rex, i would appreciate that worship.gif

Posted by: Rex Havoc Jun 20 2006, 02:29 PM

I have made an assumption that you do have The Path of the Shell installed and are looking for the file name for the "3rd age of Ahnonay". If you don't, that is why you can't find what you are looking for... If you don't have the TPotS expansion pack, you can purchase the Uru, Complete Chronicals and install it. It can be found, on-line very inexpensively.

We can't pass actual, copywrited material, via the forums...

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 02:30 PM

i do have TCC ....so yeah.... unsure.gif ok..now, i did what you said rex, i went to sfx and told it to show hidden files. but all it shows is the sound effects. there are a few music ones...but not all of them....hm. i am lost.

Posted by: Rex Havoc Jun 20 2006, 02:51 PM

Hmm, OK, I'll check when I get home and see if I can figure out where they are. Perhaps, before then, Slugzzz might pop by and help out as I think he might know... Oh, Slugzzz....

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 03:01 PM

should i PM him???

I did make a soundtrack of the original UrU: ABM about two years ago, because I didn't care for the arrangement on the UrU Music CD (soundtrack) and found all the music files then. Not sure about UrU: CC, though was thinking about making a new CD this morning. I'll do some checking in my files to see what is loaded and track down some names, since I have UrU: CC and UU installed on my computer.

I remember there was a trick to finding these files, and I think it was more to do with file size. Yes, that is is ... sort the files my file size. The larger ones will all be the main music files. They will be in the main SFX folder as .OGG files and in the streaming_cache folder as .wav files. If you can get the converter for the .OOG files, you stand a better chance of better quality.

Ahh ... think I found the file you are looking for ... ahnySphere03-Amb01_Loop

okay... I might know what now?

Posted by: Rex Havoc Jun 20 2006, 08:35 PM

Never mind! I think Wolfie found the file Gamer was looking for. Cats had mentioned earlier that the file size was a clue to the music files. They are considerably bigger. Some even have 'music' in their name!!

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 08:53 PM

THANK YOU CAGRAYWOLF!!!!! where did you find it at???
edit. ok, so i go to sfx and tell it to search in the large file.(it give you the options of small large and so on), but i dont know what key words to use for the search.... unsure.gif

You're more than welcome ... and in turn you have helped me out. I had been wanting to create a new UrU soundtrack since I had messed up some of the cuts on my original creation. For some reason the tracks cut off a few seconds early, though I think I know why that happened.

Now the trick with locating the music is really no trick, but a lot of in-depth searching. Being that I had gone through the files numerous times already, I was already familiar with each of the files. We also used to have a thread that did list all the music files from UrU: ABM ... but I have no idea where that thread is and don't feel like searching for it.

Most of the files are easy to find because they are quite large, the harder ones to locate are the music files that are shorter or even worse, broken up into parts. These are the most difficult to locate and basically take going through each file ... one by one ... looking for the ones with music. Most are easy to identify as they will usually say AMB somewhere in the title, but this is still and exhaustive search because there are quite a few of these as well. Since I'm already working on this ... if you like ... give me a few days to go through all these and I will post a complete listing of what I find.

Posted by: Slugzzz Jun 20 2006, 09:51 PM

/me is scratching his head thinking that he used some sort of extractor program to get all of those files of of Uru. It's been a while now.

Posted by: TheGamer Jun 20 2006, 09:55 PM

that would be awesome if you could, GrayWolf, it would help me alot,i hope i am not making you go out of your way just so i can make a cd unsure.gif

As I stated above ... I did buy the CD, but didn't care for the arrangement. Also, there is quite a bit of music in the game that was not included on the CD, making it rather incomplete. So I personally chose to create my own and will now be making a new one which will include all the music from the expansion packs ... which are also not on the CD. whistling.gif

Shorah all!! smile.gif

It was an old topic, but came because I was interested.
Unfortunately I do not read all replies here.
I introduce the thing which I found from a music file of URU CC and MOULa.
And this is a file not to be included in the thing which you introduced first.
It becomes all 54 pieces in addition.
