I have been getting lots of comments about the quality of these two photographs from people who I have shared them with, so I thought I'd share them here.

Baby Dana

Baby Dana 2

Enjoy.
Feel free to comment.

I know a tripod would have been helpful here... wink3.gif Don't have one yet though.

Prian,

There is nothing more dramatic that a black and white photograph. Yours bring out all the innocence of a beautiful baby.

A tip I had when taking portraits of my girls when they were young was to give them a piece of scotch tape in one hand. I got the greatest hand poses you could imagine...and the tape doesn't show.

Keep on taking the photographs and posting them. I'm getting that black and white bug again...Might just have to pick up the old camera again myself.

Here's a new one...taken in natural light conditions this time. I am happier with the "feel" of this one.
I like the airyness and softness of the light.

Oooooo... Dana's a very cute little baby.

I really like the natural light coming in adding some very nice highlights, and the little bear on the right adds some interesting texture. The whole picture has a very soothing softness that just enhances the whole mood of the shot.

I think all your pics looks great, and little Dana's a wonderful subject! smile.gif

Hmmmm... I should see if my new digital camera can take B&W pics!

If it doesn't you can just use a good photo post-processing software like Adope Photo Deluxe...

I'm lousy with photography but did want to mention something about black and white photos. We recently found a black and white snapshot of my in-laws before they were married. It was under a drawer lining and had been overlooked for years. My husband took it to a photographer who commented that because it was black and white it was easier to make a quality enlargement from it. He had an 8 x 10 made and framed and sent it along with the original snapshot to his parents for Easter. Much better than candy or flowers.

And I love the 'natural light' photo of Dana. Looks like she's putting a lot of thought into her next day's adventures.
