It should work, Cleft. It's pretty much how I moved games from my pc to laptop without redownloading everything.

When I did a fresh download of GT to a new computer, it down loaded all my game files and never lost a beat from where I last finished before I sent my laptop out to the Geek Squad.

clapping.gif Everyone has been such a great help. I appreciate all the responses and am now feeling very confident about the transfer to the new computer. Kudos to all! I admit I was most concerned about getting Uru back and can now focus on all those other incidentals that come with setting up from scratch all those items I've lived with for four or five years now. As a side note..I've seen other threads on which brand of computer to buy. This will be my third Gateway. My first was passed on to my granddaughter and is still running strong. This one will go to my granddaughter again and hers will go to my grandson. He's 5 and loves jumping and running in Uru when his mother lets him. We're an Uru family and I consider all you you my family as well.

Again, thanks for all your knowledge. worship.gif

Oh no, no, no - no games of any sort are going on that laptop. I'd get absolutely NO study done at uni if I did! roll.gif

Just an FYI...new computer received and up and running. Took advice, reinstalled GameTap (found a link somewhere for that) and downloaded Uru all over again. Took about 13 minutes to download Uru...all my avi's were there and it's running on Vista. Didn't have to change the compatibility either. No problems so far. Thanks again for all the suggestions. You people are great! rock.gif yay.gif
