This is one more sad event in a long string of them. I'm sorry to see you retire from being GM, Rex, and hope you'll check in occasionally. bye2.gif

Just in case there is an Uru Live relight...

I remember the first time I was accepted as a Greeter was when Rex PMed me. It is one of the few PMs that I saved.

A round applause and bow for our best GM! Rex you have done a superb job. I also still remember the message when I got accepted as greeter-to-be. Heck, I still have it in my Inbox! smile.gif

You'll surely be missed and I hope you have a look back in every now and then.

Best wishes for your future!

Actually Indy was going to make a proper post about this he was just working out the details in Pm's to Rex. smile.gif
But either way Sorry Bro your resigning I know it's a hard decision having done it myself ages ago
but even resigning as a GM always remember you CAN'T take the "Greeter" out of oneself no mater where you go
or the family we have all made here over trhe years.
See you in GW mate.

Copy Cats (ditto) bleh.gif ... having been a GM myself I also understand, but times change and life goes on. You have served GoG well and have done much for our home. May your journeys and travels be more stress free and allow for that fun loving nature to fulfill you. hug_squeeze.gif

Rex, I'm sorry to see you have to leave the GM post. You did a great job and was a "reference point" for the GoG.

See ya! bye2.gif

Membership Coordinator is the toughest job here. Thanks for being a great one.

Dear Rex,

My heart goes out to you too with tremendous gratitude. I too cherish the day (March 13, 2007) I got Rex's email saying I was now a Greeter (I was bouncing off walls); it meant more to me than Dean Fred's acceptance letter to Stanford back in 1983 (seriously!). Rex was always a backbone of level-headedness and good advice for me whenever anything sticky came up in URU. He was a fantastic Guild Master! I'm hoping he just stepped down seeing as there is (temporarily) no URU Online environment for which to recruit new Greeters...

Big hugs to you, Rex, and thank you again. As someone said, don't be a stranger. hug.gif

Thanks guys, for all the wonderful comments. It is most appreciated. This was one of the most difficult decisions I've made in a very long time. I loved my position and felt honored to be a GM here. Serving the Uru community throughout the past 4 - 5 years, in many capacities, has been a wonderful experience, something I'll always cherish.

With the closing of MO:UL, the need for a Membership Coordinator was no longer needed and with the forum traffic slowing, it seemed my services were not really required. There are still many talented and capable people at the helm here who will keep the Guild on course and true. In the unlikely event that we see Uru come back to life, I'll me more than happy to do what I can to help!

Happy and Safe Linking.

Much Love - Rex

(lol, I also have a copy of the PM Terra sent me when I was accepted as a Greeter!)

PS: I have not been able to get to my email directed from the GoG, in case some have sent a note..... I hope to have the issue fixed, soon!

Hi Rex that is so true there is many talented people here on GOG. Its sad that you had to step down but if time comes maybe you will be able to get your GM back. Thats if of course you want it back if and when URU live might show back up we can only hope for anouther shot. Anyways have a nice day Rex and thanks again for all your hard work.
