Some of you may have noticed a Kickstarter fundraiser for a new game from Cyan called "Obduction".

There are 7 days left in the fundraiser effort. If they meet their goal, the expected release is late 2015.

Here's a link to some discussion over at the Mystonline forums;

http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=26850

And here's the direct link to the Kickstarter page (the video doesn't run for me, but the other links have some working videos to give you the story).

Cheers,

Dadguy :-)

I looked at it. The video played ( with frequent pauses). It was going to take to long to watch the whole thing. If you donate and they don't get enough money what happens to the donation?

Hi Kaym,

If the funding goal of $1,100,000 is not reached, essentially none of the donations are processed.

If the goal is reached, then the funds are processed through Amazon Payments and transferred to the Creator (Cyan).

If the goal is reached and Cyan gets their money, but fails to deliver the product, any refunds are handled directly between the Creator (Cyan) and the donors. Kickstarter does not make refunds.

Cheers,

Dadguy :-)

Looks pretty cool. This is, in my view, a VERY exciting development.
Got an email yesterday evening. After looking at the site, seeing the teaser trailer, and reading up
on how Kickstarter works, I made my pledge.
Good luck, Cyan, on this new venture!

I donated immediately then upped my pledge as I want a boxed version. Shipping to the UK was a bit expensive, but hey... what the heck smile.gif

I bought in once I learned that Obduction was not going to be an iphone app..... laugh.gif

Looking forward to seeing what the release finally looks like. Interestingly, I also bought into the new "Tex Murphy" adventure that is in production. Love the old adventure games.

I was not able to donate so I have no access to any information about Obduction. down.gif
Still waiting for the re-release of realMYST. I might be able to afford that in a month or so.
I'm getting so desperate for some game to play that I considered getting GW2 even though my computer can barely run it. I tried the free weekend and had nothing but lag issues... probably video related.
I reloaded GW yesterday and only managed to open a bunch of birthday presents and try to figure out what to sell or just trash so I had some storage space. I really need to just buy the remaining 60 storage spaces for my chest.
run it (did the free trial to test). Tyria, thy name is lag😀

LOL! Now I know what it means to be retired... I got a "new" computer when my youngest kid built a new, faster computer to play his twitch games and didn't need his old computer which is more than adequate to play GW2.
Now I'm struggling to learn how to get around in GW2... I think I'm a level 4 Ranger or something regularly getting killed in bar brawls. I vaguely remember getting to level 8 on the last free weekend on my old computer.
You can probably find me as the dead body on the ground somewhere around Shaemore.

I haven't heard anything about Obduction since the Kickstarter ended. Something to look forward to....
