Hi all,

Just how on Rime do you get realMYST to run on XP? For me the installation went fine and I was able to play it immediatly after installation. But if I try to run it later to continue a game it crashes to the desktop without warning or error message. shock.gif I even tried to run it in 95 mode but no success. down.gif Plus the patch will not work. angry.gif If I want to run it again, I have to uninstall the game, delete the directory it was installed in and remove every trace of realMYST from the registry bank, than re-install it and play rightaway. verymad.gif

Anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance for any help you might bring.

Maybe you could try some of the suggestions on this page?

realMYST

Also try windows 2000 compatabilty, some users have noted that works for them.

Hi launton,

I tried everything specified at the link you gave me with no result. Last thing I did was contact someone at Cyan for support. I expect a response soon.

Hi launton,

I finally got news from Mark at Cyan. The problem was the codec. I needed the "indeoxp" codec for the game to workk properly. The codec is 14.95$ at ligos.com, but it is also available for free on the internet.

Thanks for all the links, they really helped! thumbsup.gif
