I have a fun game for you.. remember who said this?

"..its not about the color of your skin, but the content of your character."

Okay now think of this quote, which was obviously from MLK. Than.. watch the news, watch the inaugural (and the expensive pre-game concert extravaganza), and count how many times the words "black" and "African-American" are used.

..have fun.

Yeah i know. its absolutely absurd. The color of his skin should not even come into the equation in this day and time. I am glad that the country has come so far though. living in the south im especially glad of it. id like to see the outcome of this four yrs of office. i really hope the country does a big leap forward. but well see. bye2.gif

The fact that the comments continue on his ancestry instead of his skills, tells me we aren't as enlightened as we think we are. I find that very sad. I voted for the man, not his ancestors.

Unfortunately, from the start of his race to the inaugural, the media and all the people couldn't seem to get past the color of his skin. During the race and debates, if someone was against one of his views or opinions, it was because they were racist. If someone was for Obama, they were voting for his color. No one seemed to be able to continue a discussion on the issues alone. During the inaugural, all the media could seem to concentrate on was the color of his skin when we should be talking issues, economy etc. Maybe if the media would just calm down and let him do his job, people would learn that all humans should be judged only by their character and not by how they look. But, of course, many are still wowed by hollywood where we judge them on looks alone.
