They seem to appear from time to time... How? Why?
In my first few days on URU Live I thought Nexus was a public place and that someone linked to it with fireflies and left them there. I soon realised Nexus is a private place and noone enters my Nexus but me... So where do the fireflies come from? Why? How do they dissapear and reappear? ![]() |

Its a bug that is bug like, well firefly like
![]() What I think happens if they they are somehow kept when Eder Gira is visited and someone portals out with the fireflies in place. They then somehow keep them and then port to a nood, which causes the flies to stick to them. I'm not entirely sure what causes the glitch - it makes my head hurt also to think about the number of places in the code that would need to be checked to clean everything up ![]() |

It seems like there are two kinds of fireflies- the Eder Kemo ones, that move around and follow you, and this other kind that appear on the floor, don't move, and don't follow you. My theory is that the ones that appear on the floor signify that a change has been made in an age. So far I've seen them:
In the Nexus. Near a control room in Gahreesen, when the wall panels were added. In the Baron's Office, when the christmas tree was added. In the closet, after I've picked up new clothing. Just because they look like fireflies dosn't mean that's what they are. When everything you add to the game has to be downloaded to every player's computer, it pays to recycle sounds, graphics, and effects as much as possible. It could be a glitch, the particle effect being loaded accidentally and staying at the origin point of the level by default. But it seems like a pretty big coincidence that they appeared when those changes were made. And they follow the plane of the floor, instead of forming a cloud. -------------------- To Strider: UhthisIseemtohavelostcontrolofmyavatarbutyoudiditright

What I like are when somebody is running and jumping and have the fireflys on them.
Most have been female avi's. Anybody see them on males in the hoods or city? |

That's a bug, albeit a good bug.
When you're carrying bugs for solving Gira, if you can fall off a high cliff & land on dry ground, the bugs aren't disturbed. |

I was just going to ask this firefly question.... but seem it has already been asked.
Just now I got my 30th marker. Relto'ed back, then linked to Nexus. Low and behold there were the fireflies...... that were not there just 10 minutes before I linked into the city. And I have not been to Gira since moving onto Live. Hmmm. The Fireflies showing up just as I got the 30th marker (maybe 31 because I lost track of one) some type of recognition? Or total conicidence? |

Fireflies in the Nexus are a bug. It was just coincedence you got them upon collecting the 30th marker.

I've noticed what seems to be a pattern, but could be coincidence. Each time I have completed a marker mission, the fireflies appear in my nexus. In between times, they are not there.
