I have the oppotunity to get a new gfx-card, but then the question is, would there be any reason for choosing Ati over Nvidia with Myst V in mind?

The only reason I got an ATI Radeon 9200 was that it was much easier to remember which cards worked with Uru and Myst IV/V. Any Radeon 7000 to the 9000 series works. I've heard of driver problems with Nvidia, but then again it took me forever to get my graphics card working because I always seemed to skip a step in the installation rolleyes.gif.

I'm very happy with my nvidia GForce 7800 GTX and I think that is the best and fastest card there is at the moment. But is has its price greedy.gif

Ha ha!! So there you have it, Kiwwy . . .

One vote each way . . .

I've heard arguments on this topic rage on for weeks . . . rolleyes.gif

Basically, if you pick one of the newer card from either camp you can't go wrong.

My advice is to decide how much you can spend, then pick one that fits in your budget and looks the coolest in your compy!!

(BTW, I have an older one . . . Albatron nVidia GeForce FX 5700Q)

And I am very happy with my Radeon All-In-Wonder 8500DV... so, the vote is still even... lmao.gif

Yup if it's a new Gfx card as Tyr-anun you can't go wrong. smile.gif
Just think of how much you are willing to spend OR have and go from there.
You will always get NVIDA is best OR ATI is best OR who evers card is best
I think it is a personal choice there all the same IMO unsure.gif

I have a NVIDA GeForce FX 5700LE whistling.gif and haven't had any trouble with any games.

when I got my Nvidia 6800, I looked at the software I wanted to use. I saw which video card was recommended by each company and went from there. It seems most of the reviews will say one is best until the other company introduces a new one, then it is best. They keep leapfrogging each other. Your budget and your use will determine your choice.

I will even throw out another Nvidia vote. My FX5950 Ultra has served me well since I had gotten it, and even the Geforce4 4600 that it replaced is still doing great in the other computer.

I am runnng both, ATI mobility Radeon 9600/9700 in my laptop, and a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 128MIB DDR 64 in my desk top, and both work fine. I believe that price will be the main factor. shock.gif

Wow, William. I think I'm running the exact same setup smile.gif

ATI Radeon in my laptop, GeForce FX5200 in my desktop smile.gif

Both work fine, although the laptop is hugely more grunty than my PC smile.gif

I have a nVidia Geforce FX5700 LE with 256MB and it just works great with Uru, UU, Myst IV and (I hope, don't have it yet) Myst V (well, the demo was great with it).
