There is no XP version of Riven, as far as I know. I haven't tried Riven on my XP comp yet, but I have heard that others can get it to work. I might suggest that you get the 10th Anniversary edition, that has Myst, Riven and Exile, and as far as I know, it works with XP. (I might be totally wrong, I don't own it)

Riven works fine on my XP, but I needed the patch. 1.05 I think.

You could try the compatibility mode of Windows XP, and set it to Windows 98.

It should be possible, yes. Install Quicktime or Quicktime Alternative, then Riven, and patch it.
Should you get problems just set the compatibilty mode to Win98 I replayed Riven last year on my XP box. |

Actually , assuming PS means Playstation , that would only be possible if you had an emulator installed to run PS games on your computer . Otherwise , your computer probably wouldnt even recognize the disk .

Small caveat . . .
watch out for old versions of Quicktime. Big fire-breathing kink-belching gremlins can quickly be triggered on your computer with some of them. When Riven's install screen comes on . . . offering to install the version of Quicktime and/or DirectX that comes on the CD . . . First try using the likely-newer versions of each . . . that is currently installed on your computer. You wouldn't BELIEVE the problems QUICKTIME 4 . . . caused Windows operating systems . . . when those older versions also got installed! -------------------- The Guild of Doofi Prophetess suddenly displays a strange photo:

So I guess I have to find an "emulator" Edited: This post has been edited by ydontuknow: Aug 22 2004, 02:50 PM -------------------- Nutrition and Your Health: Dietary Guidelines

I just starting replaying all the games (Myst, Riven, Exile) from the 10th Anniversary DVD on my XP machine. The only problem I had was with Gehn's Journal. When I turned to the page with the dome password it always scrambled itself. I was able to see the numbers, but I could not read the rest of the journal. Anyone else see this problem?

Cyan teamed up with GOG.com good old games. Riven has been redone for windows xp and windows vista. I would sugest checking there.
Good Old Games There is no mac version of the game though |
