spring has sprung and new theatrical releases are coming.
what will you be watching ? how did you like it ? i don't go to theaters much because of the crowds. but when hubbie has a day off during the week i like to try and get to a movie. yesterday we went to see Sin City. it was a very good movie with a few different stories, but they show how they all tie in to each other. this movie might not be for every one. it reminded me of an "art" film. it shows in grainy black & white with some vibrant colors thrown in. hubbie and i had the theater to ourselves and were able to talk about the film as it played. there are just some movies that cause this to happen and for us this is one. we both enjoyed our time watching it. the next movie that i hope to watch at the theater is Star Wars III. -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE (coelho_buda @ Apr 12 2005, 03:37 AM) The "borrowed" works were two role playing games from Tri Tac Games, "Bureau 13:Stalking the Night Fantastic" and "Fringeworthy". These were originally created in the early 80's. I was a technical consultant and editor/proof-reader/play-tester, etc. Tri Tac Games Bureau 13 was also turned into a series of novels written by Nick Pollatta (Currently writing as James Axler.), and a poorly executed computer game. With permission, Nick sent a script treatment for a TV series to FOX... With the following result: Click here to view a spoiler. Then, to add insult to injury, as that series was winding down, another program pops up that follows the game and books even more closely: Click here to view a spoiler. "Fringeworthy" is an even more frustrating case, partly because I REALLY like what it's turned into. Not so much the movie, but the spin-off series': Click here to view a spoiler. Aside from the overall themes and specific (and sometimes unusual) character names used, we have information directly from one of the movie writers that they were given a copy of "Fringeworthy" to use as a "bible". When the writers questioned the producers about this, they were told that, "Tri Tac was out of business, and besides, they had much bigger lawyers." We don't "know" that the current series writers are still using the game for reference, but new "similarities" keep cropping up. Like the advertising campaign for the newest series using a word-for-word line from the game introduction page... Tri Tacs lawyers all say that there's no question that we'd win any lawsuit, but they also warn that MGM is in the habit of automatically appealing or counter suing, and dragging things out in the courts until the injured parties run out of money to fight. That's why they have the lawyers on staff... So, about all Tri Tac can do is sit back and watch, and we know, "The Truth is out there..."
